 A portrait painting inspired by my childhood growing up in the south of France. My dad was a fierce cyclist, and we used to watch the Tour de France pass close to our home every year. I was fascinated—and still am—by cyclists and all they can represent. I wanted to create a kind of statue of what an ideal cyclist might look like in a whimsical world
